The Intercalary Days

The five-pointed star — the pentagram — is the symbol of the golden ratio made visible. Its geometry is unique: every intersection generates φ (phi), the divine proportion. Unlike the sevenfold torus of recursion or the sixfold Flower of Life, fivefold symmetry breaks the mold of tiling and rotation in Euclidean space. It takes 72 years for the stars to move 1 degree through precession — the slow retrograde rotation of Earth’s axis over ~25,920 years. This means that those five extra days per year — over the span of 72 years — create an entire leap year of hidden time, almost exactly. In other words:
